Critt's Juke Joint is a raw blue collar funky roots music experience featuring Eric "Critt" Crittenden on sax, keys & vox, Zuri Appleby on bass, Deshawn "D Ray" Jackson on the skins and Michael DiSanto on guitar.
With Deep and lyrical songs, beast improv and fresh takes on the classics, Critt's Juke Joint borrows from the American old country juke joint sounds of the chitlin' circuit and blends them into their own unique sound. Critt's Juke Joint began as a result of tireless touring by the band's leader Eric "Critt" Crittenden, who for over almost 15 years, toured from festival to jam cruise to festival and played with legends like Bob Weir & Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, Michael Franti & Dirty Dozen Brass Band just to name a few. From there he recorded a CD featuring Eric Krasno of Soulive and Rob Wasserman and then took the juke joint improv concept on the road. Critt's Juke Joint instantly became a hit on the national scene because it always provided audiences with incredible jam sessions by the biggest names who would come to sit in. Bernard Purdie, Alan Evans, Karl Denson, Christian Scott, Freekbass, Adam Deitch and DJ Logic are just some of the cats who came to vibe. Now Critt's Juke Joint has taken all of that and bundled it into a good ol' fashion American funk 'n roll show! See you soon!
